We dashed across to Bilbao on a daytrip from Barcelona just to see what HAS to be the most unusualpiece of architecture ever! Frank Gehry’s titanium clad Guggenheim Museum is a sight to behold! Architect Philip Johnson called it “the greatest building of our time”. We tend to agree!
Check out all the other great entries here Thank you for visiting and have a great weekend! Some really interesting entries this week!

Thank you Francine!
interesting as always!
Thanks Mehmudah
I’ve seen a program on the making of this building on Nat Geo
Haha, I said “video” in my last comment. Please don’t approve that!
It is an awesome building! The view from across the river is even nicer! Thanks for stopping by….deleted your earlier comment
Don’t remind me! I haven’t been to Bilbao OR Barcelona. Still, you can keep me happily supplied with photos, can’t you? Cheers!
Happy to
You need to be truly passionate about architecture to get to Bilbao
I wonder what that building looks like inside. I suspect, it is something to see. Good choice for the topic at hand for sure.
Actually, it is nicer from the outside

Hi Madhu, I enjoyed seeing all the responses to the photo challenge. Our Experience Music Museum in Seattle is one of the strangest buildings I have ever seen. I wouldn’t call it lovely, but it is unique. Thanks for an interesting post!
Frank Gehry’s work is definitely unique! Thank YOU for your feedback!
Wow, that is very unusual! Great post, and thank you so much for the link back!

That picture makes me think of the Walt DIsney Concert Hall in LA. It’s weird and beautiful.
Had no idea he had designed so many similar looking buildings!!
I want to go to Bilboa and see this building. May get an opportunity to do so later in the year. Bilboa will be out of my way, but worth it I think.
Thanks for sharing this photo.
Absolutely worth it! It is a beautiful city on its own! Great food as well! We regretted not having stayed longer
I love the food in Spain. Can’t wait! I won’t have much time there, but am planning to make the time for this side trip.
That is unusual indeed! Stunning entry!
Thanks Sonel
Such a great building!!
It is! Thanks Cee!
Madhu, your photos are always stunning. Thanks for sharing them. As much as I have traveled there are certain places I can only visit vicariously through others so thank you for taking me with you
Becky
Thank YOU for following me on my travels!
Ah Yeah, Frank Gehry is an Awesome Architect… I work for an Architect, so I’ve seen a Film about his Career… He also Designed some Buildings fairly near me, maybe 20-30 miles away… What a Talent

I feel the same way Darkjade! Thanks for stopping by!
Beautiful architecture! Thank you for sharing it.
Would love to visit Barcelona, Spain someday and see the Modernista architecture of Antoni Gaudí… it’s unusually beautiful too!
I almost did a feature on Gaudi’s Casa Batllo but decided this was even more unusual!
HI Madhu, what does it look like from the inside? Does it look like a regular building?
Lots of curves of course, but stark and simple. The lighting is amazing! The facade from across the river is awesome. I didn’t stop on the other side long enough for a good pic.
