Reblogged from Summer in Breswana:
Ah, steeds, steeds, what steeds!
Has the whirlwind a home in your manes?
Is there a sensitive ear, alert as a flame, in your every fiber?
Hearing the familiar song from above, all in one accord you strain your bronze chests and,
hooves barely touching the ground, turn into straight lines cleaving the air,
and all inspired by God it rushes on!
I don't usually reblog. But I have been wanting to share with you all, the lives of a bunch of schoolchildren in a village in Jammu and Kashmir, as documented by Felix over at 'Summer in Breswana'. He has just returned from his life changing volunteering stint in this remote village and it seems to have transformed his writing. Do check out the entire series, particularly "The Drama Queen". I am beginning to know each child by name :-)

I’m very glad that you reblogged!
Glad you liked it Gilly.
J&K is a region of India that is considered the most beautiful in the world. But it has been fraught by violence over disputed territory with Pakistan and the resulting insurgency for well over two decades. Felix’s are some of the happiest stories coming out of there that i have read in a long, long time. Check out his post the ‘Drama Queen’ if you have time
Thanks for sharing the post…

Felix is a Christian from a predominantly Hindu country teaching Islamic students in a secessionist state. Ought to be lessons there somewhere for all of us.
