Yes, I like the merge of old and new. This is a hard challenge.
Yes, I first thought merge meant ‘blend with the background’!
You tackled that challenge really well! Lovely picture!
Thanks Rachelynne! And thanks also for the follow

That’s amazing, Madhu. I wouldn’t have thought there were any new takes on the Louvre entrance possible! But you found one —
Thank you! This is from one of the windows on the second floor

Many thanks!
Majestically merged!! Brilliant, you did it again, Madhu! Happy weekend.
Thank you Amy! You are too kind
Great – very well chosen…
Thank you Ledrake
Per me quella piramide al Louvre è l’intrusione di un megalomane.
By itself I think it is brilliant! Amidst all that classic architecture, you would be justified in calling it an intrusion! Grazie mill for sharing your thoughts

Something amazing happens when you merge the old and the new. Beautiful!
I agree, but ! guess it is in the eye of the beholder though
Thanks IT
I love this contrast!
Thank you Mimo
Heh – wonderful
Maybe I will give it a go after all. Won’t match your pic though
Oh I have no doubt you will come up with something spectacular!
Beautiful composition~
Thank you Vastlycurious
I’ve seen some magnificent shots of the pyramid, but I’ve never seen anyone line it up at that angle before Madhu – it’s as if you had the challenge in mind … Great shot, perfect subject
Oh, thank you TWLG
The views from the upper floors are as magnificent as the contents of the Louvre!
In some lights it looks like a jewel – and the juxtaposition of the glass prisms held together by polished steel is magical.
Great interpretation and a striking capture of old and new.
Thank you Fergiemoto

What a wonderful pic of old and new for Merge!! Especially in iteself that the pyramid of glass comes from out of ghisa and ancient in itself!!
Thank you Lisa! You mean the concept is ancient, because this is an ultra-modern construction by I M Pei.
Wow! Terrific photograph and interpretation of merge.
Thank you Lola
I. M. Pei’s artistic vision was, indeed, controversial. Excellent choice for this challenge.
And I can understand the misgivings, considering the vastly differing styles. But he is one of my favourite architects! I did a feature earlier on the Suzhou Museum that he designed for his hometown.
