Here are some more textures from the Furong cave in the Chongqing region!
The Furong Cave is a large limestone cave, with the most surreal stalactite formations that I have ever seen! I just wish I could have turned off those psychedelic lights to view them in all their natural glory.
Do check out Ailsa’s fabulous textural interpretations from the Zion National park!
Until next time……..happy travels, no matter where life takes you!

wow … these are amazing, madhu. apt descriptive, too: surreal!
Thank you Stephen
Brill set of pictures, we have a place here in Uk called Cheddar caves, and they are good but yours are better…

Thank you Lisa. Trust the thoroughbred is up and ready
it’s stomping in the stalls! my fever broke last night, so maybe later today i’ll take the filly for a gallop around the track! thanks! z
The ‘grippe’ can sap your strength! Take it easy Lisa. And get well soon
Natural beauty can be awesome, Madhu!
Absolutely Jo! We went to some amazing places around this region!
This is really amazing !.. beautiful captured @Madhu ! Happy weekend
Thank you Anna
I love visiting this type of cave. Your photos are great. Love the colours.
Thanks AD
Stunning shots, Madhu – I agree, though, I think stalagtites and stalagmites are best enjoyed in their natural colours, the bizarre illuminations detract if anything from their natural beauty. A flickering candle flame would be gorgeous. Really wonderful post. xxx Ailsa
A flickering candle flame would have been perfect! Thank you Ailsa.
white lighting would make them look a lot more etheral I agree but great shots anyway
Thank you Sue. I thought yours was outstanding
Just glorious and definitely a good choice for Texture.
Thanks Lynne
The textures are fascinating; ditto the colors.
Thank you Eliz
Stunning colours!
Thank you Colline

Excellent idea for the texture challenge
Very impressive formations indeed!
They are unbelievable and the cave is enormous! Thanks Paula
Amazing!
Thank you Kristin! Appreciate your visit and comment
I agree with you. Those lights are jarring. There is something similar in the Philippines. There is a place in Palawan in the southern part of the country where you can find an underground river. The river leads one to a network of caves full of stalactites and stalagmites. If I am not mistaken, that place is now a UNESCO Heritage.
Sounds awesome! Would love to visit those caves if I am ever in the region!
I find caves like this fascinating, but I also prefer the views without the colored lights. Great photos!
Thanks Fergie. Yes the lights were a bit of an eyesore
