For Jakes Sunday Post I chose images of people – lots of people – leading upto two famous facades.
The Ruínas de São Paulo in Macau…..
and the Celsus Library in Ephesus, Turkey.
The facades are all that remain of these two stunning structures. The former dating back to 1637 and the latter built nearly 15 centuries earlier!
While you are here, do check out some portraits of the people of my places :-)

I´ve never visited either of these places, Madhu – but both look very interesting!
Lovely photos for the theme
Lovely scenes, Madhu. How amazing that the beautiful facade of Saint Paul’s cathedral is still standing, whilst the rest of the structure has crumbled away.
great pictures Madhu with a little history…;)
Two great choices for the theme
It doesn’t look as if the Macau frontage could possibly stay standing!Celsus is stunning and very solid of course
Beautiful sights.
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
Amazing post Madhu for this week topic ,I really enjoy your photography my friend thanks for sharing
Madhu, I was in Macau about 30 years ago and don’t remember anything but the casinos and restaurants – drat. Ephesus is another story as I have plenty of photos and remember it well. Think I need to return to Macau – it looks interesting!
Both are majestic. Ephesus is holy!
Turkey looks amazing!!!
Ornate, impressive structures. It’s a wonder that they’ve held up thru the centuries.
That banner shot of the thin edifice of the church with the people is front stands out very well.
Looks great
Great people pictures, Madhu. I have similar ones of Ephesus in Turkey!
You and I have walked many of the same paths.
Wow…that’s a lot of people.
My dad said he’d like to go to that place in Turkey, I said I’d like to go with him. My brother Skinny Alf said it looked like rubble and my sister Chubby Jess said she likes eating Turkey. Do you see what philistines I have to put up with?
This is great, Madhu!
I like the intricate carvings on the facade. Lovely!
I love the comparison, Madhu. Really gets you thinking.
Sometimes, whenever I get to a place, I get so overwhelmed with the crowd and that I get so excited being a part of them. And sometimes, I just want to kick them all out of my way in one sweep. Bwahahahahaha! Oh, evil urges of mine.
They both look like amazing destinations, Madhu!
Very majestic but obviously I love the Ephesus best of course!
Just a regular Sunday outing, eh?!??!!
Gorgeous.

A very fascinating group of adventurous people. Love the 2 facades. So rich with texture and history.
It’s just amazing to see all those people on the streets so Ephesus! When R and I were there in ’76 there were a couple of other couples – we never got close enough to talk to them, or see their faces clearly, so it was like being alone in this deserted city – alone, that is, except for the ghosts of the past! But, despite the hordes, it’s great to see it again – what a place.
People, people everywhere and growing steadily at every major site too.
