Weekly Photo Challenge: Journey
We lucked out and got alloted seats A1 & A2 on the Vistadome train to Machu Pichu! That meant loads of leg room, and best of all, phenomenal, unrestricted views through the plate glass window up front!
This image of the train tracks, running parallel to the Urubamba river, from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes (or Machu Picchu town as it is also known) signifies the journey of a lifetime! A journey to a magical place that we had dreamt of, for as long as we could remember!
Warm wishes for a great Easter weekend!

Thank you SKEdazzles! Loved your spiritual take!
I so like the colours in this picture Madhu. It’s almost surreal. Beautiful landscapes, what a journey that must’ve been.
Thanks Anette! That was an incredible journey! Shall post about it soon!

travel inspiring photo.
Thank you! So glad you think so!
I’d have loved to have taken that ride, judging from this photo alone. The scenery looks magnificent!.
It was Orples! Shall post more pics soon.
Triple awesome.
Thank you! The place was all that and more!
Beautiful! I hope to go there next year. I love your Santorini picture too. It’s an island I went to to about 30 years ago.
Belinda
You will love it! Would be interesting to know how Santorini has changed since then! Welcome to my blog! Hope to see you around 🙂

Thank you Wyletter! Happy Easter to you too!
I’ve heard, that Machu Picchu isn’t easy to reach …
Does involve some prior arrangements, but I would not call it hard. We did everything on our own online and did not encounter any problems.
Wow, that’s gorgeous! You guys were so lucky to get those seats.
Thank you Jessica!
Madhu,
You and I both did train tracks, but yours is MUCH prettier! 🙂
I really liked your interpretations!
What a wonderful journey.
Thank you Becky!

Thank you! Would love to go on one of the Orient Express trains! Doubt I will ever have that kind of moolah 🙂
Beautiful photograph.
Thank you Arindam!
Great picture! I did the Inca Trail hike eleven years ago and it was amazing! Wish we would have taken the train there instead of our shuttle that was rather frightening especially when we all had to get out of it so it could cross a bridge safely.
That must have been when the train tracks got damaged by the floods. I would’ve loved to do the trail, but R has issues with altitude sickness and we didn’t want to risk it. Thank you for stopping by to comment!
lovely work Madhu!
Thank you Mimo!
Gorgeous capture… an awesome view of the Urubamba River! The journey to the “Lost City of the Incas” must have been amazing!
Thank you so much! It was truly amazing!
