Weekly Photo Challenge: Sun
Is anyone crazy enough to point their cameras at the sun at midday? I am apparently! Despite R constantly muttering that I will not be able to capture much with the sun directly behind my subject, I click anyway! Because I am no photographer…..I am just a traveler wanting to record that particular subject for my album, especially if I know I will not be offered another chance to do so!
Below is one such capture, the gateway to the Temple of Hathor in Deir el Bahri, Luxor. Not the greatest, picture wise, but hey…..shot at midday with the sun in all its glory! I am so glad I don’t always listen to R 🙂
Thank you for visiting and have a great weekend!
Check out some great entries here

Divine!
Thank you Heloise! It does seem like a divine halo 🙂
yes especially at Hathor’s temple as I read She was a lot described with a sun disk over her head 😉
Fabulous shot!
Thank you so much Suburbanferndaleark! Welcome to my blog! I shall be back to check out yours at leisure when I finish catching up 🙂
Madhu, try a graduated ND filter for your lens. The top half will be dark, and the bottom half will be light to clear. It will reduce the glare and lower the exposure for bright skies! Get a fairly dark one (they come in different darknesses). I just tried one that was minimal and didn’t notice much of a difference. I’d go for the three stops one.
Apreciate the tips Arnel 🙂
