A Sunday Morning On Ipanema

Sunday Morning on Ipanema - Rio de Janeiro

My interpretation of ‘summer’? A warm sunday morning on Ipanema beach.

Several agua de coco’s later, we walked on to the Feira Hippie de Ipanema – the weekly fair on Praça General Osório nearby – and then all the way to Lagoa, stopping en-route to pick up Bossa Nova CD’s and grazing on shrimp and vegetable empadas and fresh suco.

Ending with a short taxi ride to the beautiful Parque Lage for dessert and coffee.

A perfect Sunday!

  1. dear Madhu,
often I tried to play THE GIRL FROM IPANEMA on my guitar
    (together with a saxophone)
    – but much better it would be:
to be there and make photos …

  3. Hi Madhu, I stumbled upon this blog while surfing on WordPress. I fell in love with Rio when I visited last year; therefore, I looked up this post to see what you had to say about it. The above picture invoked pleasant memories for me. Thank you.
