To those that can dream there is no such place as faraway
Welcome to The Urge To Wander.
I’m Madhu. I love design. I design interiors for a living (currently on an intermittent sabbatical.) I love reading, and I love desserts. But travel is my passion. And although I started travelling – and blogging – late in life, I am now focused on making up for lost time. Read more about me…
The Urge To Wander is a collection of written and visual stories from all the places I’ve travelled to and of the people I’ve connected with. It is aimed at the individual independent traveller. It is my hope that my stories and images will inspire each of you to travel more, and that the brand new resource pages culled from over a decade of independent travel will help you travel better.
Whether you are seeking inspiration or are curious about my planning process and the resources I use or are just looking for specific destination guides, the links below will point you in the right direction.
Plans to set up a personalised travel planning service are also in the offing. Make sure you are subscribed to get the latest news and updates from TUTW straight to your inbox.
So where do you want to go? Look for inspiration in my collage of EXPERIENCES grouped into themed stories (categories) for easy navigation.
*The PLANNING page holds tips on travel bookings, gear, photography, visas et al including a list of every resource and App I use before and during a journey. I’ve also compiled the pre-planning tips into a useful checklist that you can download when you subscribe via email.
*WORK IN PROGRESS
*My comprehensive destination guides are loaded with practical tips on things to do eat and see, sample itineraries and information about what worked and didn’t for us.
