Travel for me is all about the transient moments I encounter. Fleeting fragments of life that evoke mood and a sense of place. To be able to freeze those ephemeral stories, to ensure they endure long after their momentary enactment, is such a boon.
Here are a few examples. All from Venice.

I prefer candid street photography as well David. Something gets lost when the subject becomes aware of the photographer.
I loved that you looked at the “other” Venice and didn’t get stuck with the bridges and the architecture. I live there when I am in Italy and Venice is so much more than a museum – still a living and breathing city.

Each one different. Each with its own mood. For someone who prefers to photograph architecture, you really got some great street scenes, Madhu. That last one of the couple is a classic…hats, hand, leg angles, splash of yellow and all framed by the window. Cities are about people and you have some great captures that show your moment with them.:)

I’d say this is real nice mood –
the criss-cross feeling the first one – with the stroller and leash and that Xthey make – then with the baby’s eyes on the pulling dog – what a split second you caught there Madhu – and what would Venice be without a ride along the turquoise water being documented with a selfie – lol – lastly, I found the mood of the final photo to be most provocative- how did you get this one???? the matching hats and the contrast with the couple watching and the 2 mannequins in the lit window – (spread open pretty hand of lady adds to the feel) but the faded spray paint is what throws in the twist!
Ha….I stalked them Yvette 😀 I walked some distance behind them hoping there would be fewer pedestrians ahead and got rewarded with that shop window for a backdrop moments before they turned the corner!! The matching hats are a serendipitous bonus! 🙂
