Travel for me is all about the transient moments I encounter. Fleeting fragments of life that evoke mood and a sense of place. To be able to freeze those ephemeral stories, to ensure they endure long after their momentary enactment, is such a boon.
Here are a few examples. All from Venice. In Torcello….Exiting a vaporetto….A selfie beneath the Rialto…
A romantic stroll in San Marco.
Until next time…..happy travels, no matter where life takes you.
Excellent timing of all the photos… And all the characters on their own, engrossed in their own, very innocent… Happy clicking 🙂
So many lovely feelings of comfort in these moments Madhu!
Thank you for reading Patti.
These are awesome…and I leave with a great smile on my face as the last one sums it up so well 🙂
Thank you very much Randall 🙂
Happy Easter to you, Madhu 🙂
Hope Easter was fun Jo. Sorry to have missed wishing you before I left.
No worries, hon. I know you would have had a grand time. I expect you have another post up? Yippee! 🙂
Lovely moments capturing real people at a frozen moment in time. Well done Madhu!
Thank you Tina 🙂
These are fantastic! 😀
Thanks Shelley. I had fun shooting them 🙂
Great moments and nicely captured!
Thank you Indah 🙂

Thank you for the shout out!

I always enjoy your captures, you evoke mood and personality. That is a special combination.
That is a lovely thing to say Valentine! Thank you very much 🙂
Candid and nice.
Thanks again Niranjan 🙂
Nicely captured moments–ethereal, indeed! Shouldn’t that guy taking the selfie be holding the camera upright to get the bridge and the guy rowing in the shot???
Thank you. I got the feeling they were too absorbed in themselves! 🙂
You’re right, I’d imagine that would be the point at that particular moment…still, I’d want a gondolier in the background, too.
Lovely Madhu, each image conjures a story. – Ginette
Thank you very much Ginette.
It’s amazing the emotion and pure humanness that is revealed by this type of picture, as opposed to posed, perfectly-timed ones. I love them.

I prefer candid street photography as well David. Something gets lost when the subject becomes aware of the photographer.
I loved that you looked at the “other” Venice and didn’t get stuck with the bridges and the architecture. I live there when I am in Italy and Venice is so much more than a museum – still a living and breathing city.
Thank you Claudia! Appreciate your stopping by 🙂
Lovely
Thank you! Have a great day 🙂
Great ephemeral moments, Madhu. They are truly glimpses into the lives of others.
Thank you Cathy.
Dear Madhu! What a wonderful moment to stop in and say hello. Man, I need to win the lottery so I can hire help to cut my work time in half. I miss visiting you and my many other blog friends. I haven’t forgotten you and your brilliant photography. 🙂
We are all in the same boat Eliz. 🙂 Happy to see you here. Hope all is well with you.
Each one different. Each with its own mood. For someone who prefers to photograph architecture, you really got some great street scenes, Madhu. That last one of the couple is a classic…hats, hand, leg angles, splash of yellow and all framed by the window. Cities are about people and you have some great captures that show your moment with them.:)
Thank you very much Lynne. I was pleased with the way that one turned out 🙂
Happy travels indeed, and the collection brings smiles.
Thanks Frank 🙂
some nice moments 🙂
Thanks Joshi 🙂
The little girl in the second photo is a very old soul Madhu and I’d love to know what she’s thinking. She seems entranced by you! Great ephemeral shots, each telling stories.
R said she looks like she’s thinking “What a crazy lady!”. I am going with ‘entranced’ too 😀
Beautifully captured moment, Madhu. The last one is my favourite. 🙂
Mine too Sylvia. That one demanded a bit more effort than the others 🙂
Those moments are no longer ephemeral: they’ve been immortalised with your lovely photos.
That is the most beautiful thing about photography isn’t it Meg? To be able to look back and relive those moments? Pleasure to see you here always. Have a lovely day 🙂
My favorite is the couple standing in front of the mannequins. Excellent fleeting moments.
Thanks Debbie. They weren’t stationary. I had to hurry to get this shot before they turned the corner 🙂
Capturing the moment with a digital image certainly goes a long way to preserving that experience for later recall.
It sure does! Thank you Ian 🙂
Beautiful shots; you did really capture a special moment, love them 🙂
Glad you do. Thank you Estelea. Happy week ahead to you 🙂
Love that, oh yeah great last mood, and the little girl – I fell in love with her eyes. Yes you are a master at capturing these little moments the story, we are lucky to be able to enjoy your spirit of life’s moments.
What a nice compliment, thank you so much Mary.
I love the sentiment of this post. It sums up my love for travel (photography) also.
Good to hear. Thank you for stopping by Ring Lady 🙂
I’d say this is real nice mood –
the criss-cross feeling the first one – with the stroller and leash and that Xthey make – then with the baby’s eyes on the pulling dog – what a split second you caught there Madhu – and what would Venice be without a ride along the turquoise water being documented with a selfie – lol – lastly, I found the mood of the final photo to be most provocative- how did you get this one???? the matching hats and the contrast with the couple watching and the 2 mannequins in the lit window – (spread open pretty hand of lady adds to the feel) but the faded spray paint is what throws in the twist!
Ha….I stalked them Yvette 😀 I walked some distance behind them hoping there would be fewer pedestrians ahead and got rewarded with that shop window for a backdrop moments before they turned the corner!! The matching hats are a serendipitous bonus! 🙂
ha – so you are a stalker – lol – that is so fun to how you almost missed the shot then – serendipitous indeed….
Bella
Grazie 🙂
What a nice interpretation, Madhu. Great photographs that brought a smile to my heart.
Glad you enjoyed it Pat. Happy Monday! 🙂
I feel the same way, Madhu–you can read whole stories in one quick snapshot. That second photo of the little girl is riveting.
There was a moment’s connection there Naomi, before we all rushed out, and I just had to freeze it 🙂
Beautiful scenes in the instant !!
Thanks Pat 🙂
Great moments in time, Madhu.
Thank you Angeline.
Lovely!
Thank you for your visit and comment. Have a great day! 🙂
