I love doors and doorways. Apart from their functional and architectural appeal, doors are symbols of transition, of endings and beginnings. Of shedding the familiar and crossing the threshold to embrace the unknown! I find them mysterious….What secrets are they privy to? What stories do they tell?
For doors are both frame and monument
to our spent time,
and too little has been said
of our coming through and leaving by them”
~ Charles Tomlinson
Thank you for visiting and have a great day!

I love the Cairo door!
Beautiful pictures! I wonder what stories doors could tell- they’d be so interesting 🙂
An extremely fabulous array of doors. I have a fascination with what doors mean in the greater realm of life. They are repesentative of so many things. You may enjoy the one I posted which has an image that tempts all of my gueats to inquire about the meaning. I always make them tell me what they see in the image first before I tell them. The variety of opinions is endless. Your photo’s are wonderful for this challenge. It looks like it was geared to you.
Very nice,
Isadora

I love Your collection of doors and doorways. This is one hobby to start with camera.
I saw that You have not been in Finland. Here we have also something to be shown for the world. I have always admired the door of private wooden church made by a female artist Eeva Ryynänen. If the door is awesome, so it is also the church inside – unique.
Sculptor’s private wooden church.

Wonderful set of pictures and pretty unique selection, I should say. I love doors and doorways too. Saw some nice ones in France framed by bougainvilleas and other blooms.
