If anything, the recent floods that devastated my city underscored the unpredictability of life. I very nearly cancelled our visit to Myanmar. But R convinced me of the futility of that guilty decision.
So here we are. In this beautiful land on the verge of promising new beginnings.
All best wishes for a healthy, happy 2016!

Yvette, thank you very much for your lovely comment. I struggled to maintain a blogging schedule last year. Hoping to stay more connected with my WP community in 2016. See you around 🙂
well my pleasure – and keep in mind that the gift of a blog is that we get our own ebb and flow – and having years of disconnect or pauses might be part of a healthy flow – it is such unique thing – and in my experience so far (not too long – but some years of doing it now) people can get serious burnout with their blog if they keep the schedule to rigid – it can start to feel like work – plus we change and evolve as a blogger – and for me th biggest hurdle is finding a way to stay connected – I do not like the app because it leaves out so many of the blogs I actually “want” to visit – and then I have other issues that impede my connecting – but I am making it work – and I guess enjoying my own ebb and flow.\
anyhow, here is to a new year – woo hoo –
hugs
❤
There really are beautiful places in Myanmar. Yangon is being spruced up but has a long way to go yet. But outlying countryside has a simple beauty about it and the common people are so nice. The Japanese occupation was very hard on them, but what the generals did to their own country and people is criminal and they should be held to account for those years. Unfortunately politics being what it is they will probably get away with their plundering and abuse of the people during those years.
We found rural Myanmar truly enchanting. I doubt the generals will ever pay for their crimes. It will be enough if they take a back seat in the future. Myanmar deserves a btreak.
Thank you for your continued support through the year Ian. Much appreciated 🙂
