My 1st curse was about him when I was a very little boy. I said: “Du Adonauer!” It seemed for me the worst I could say against someone – obviously something I heard from my parents.
It was. India is hotter, but we don’t walk around as much on a daily basis.
I supposed so. When the temperatures go beyond 31 Celsius with humidity I can hardly do anything. This does not mean that I am crazy about winter cold either. What is the lowest temperature in your place?
Lowest ever is probably around 13 Celsius, but that is unusual. 16 – 18 is normal in Dec. Mid twenties in summer.
🙂 Your winter seems just about right :D. No need for fur coats over there 😉
Never. In fact it has been getting progressively hotter.
Shame about warming 😦 Here higher temperatures have left trees absolutely green this Autumn, and with the winds and rain, they are now falling and soon will be completely bare.
Sacred Heart, my favorite of all in Paris. I love the walk up the hill. There use to be this wonderful shop on the way, each time I was there I stopped and bought wonderful hand threaded jewelry, wonderful beaded necklaces and sometimes batik scarves. Then I would continue to wander until I reached my favorite steps and then to wander inside till I found St. Joan.
What a wonderful reminder, what a marvelous vista.
Fantastic photo and choice …. I have the photo in the opesite direction .. from the tower to Sacré Cœur – it’s so true that Paris seems to just go on for ever !
That’s a classic view of Paris. They have a video which allows you to examine the city from different angles by manipulating controls similar to Google map view controls. It was sent to me as a forward and I can’t remember if it’s up on an internet site or not. You have an excellent camera.
You must be talking of the 360 paorama. I got it too and I thought it was amazing! Mine is an entry level DSLR Ian. Way ahead compared to my old point and shoot, but still pretty basic compared to the big boys.
Have been trying to find time for your ‘Priya’ series in vain. Didn’t want to rush through it. Shall be over to catch up soon.
I’m surprised, Madhu, that you mentioned Konrad Adenauer, he was a German chancellor 🙂

started a rocket to Mars this week 🙂
Schönes Bild.
Ein gutes Wochen Ende wünschen wir. Wolfgang
Vielen dank Wolfgang 🙂
Wow!
That was my reaction when I reached the top too Ingrid 🙂
That is a very special horizon.
Isn’t it? Paris has so many spots for panoramic views.
Lovely, Madhu!
Thank you Naomi 🙂
Wow! That’s a breathtaking view. 🙂
It certainly is Rekha! 🙂 Thank you for stopping by.
We don’t, do we?! Such a nice interpretation, Madhu. 🙂
Thank you Marina 🙂
Madhu, I like the quote as well.
janet
Glad you do Janet, thank you.
What could be more enticing than the Eiffel Tower holding up the horizon–nice interpretation.
Yes, Madhu the same quote indeed! Well, you know what they say about great minds thinking alike 🙂 And the photo is fabulous!
🙂
He never spoke a truer word. Madhu 🙂 Great capture.
Thanks Jo 🙂
Ah yes Paris has so many great views on its horizons 🙂
And never enough time to gaze at them all 😦
I didn’t know that Konrad did say that. I always thought that he had a rather limited one.
Ha, ha, politicians have to be the most hated lot on this planet! Even when they occasionally come out with gems like this 🙂
My 1st curse was about him when I was a very little boy. I said: “Du Adonauer!” It seemed for me the worst I could say against someone – obviously something I heard from my parents.
Glorius!
Thank you. A gloriously sunny day helped too Angeline 🙂
Gorgeous Madhu! 🙂
Thank you Nicole 🙂
We never got to Sacre Coeur while in Paris — another reason to return! What an amazing view.
We missed it on a previous trip too, so we made the effort to visit this July.
What a spread – thank you Madhu
Spread! That is the perfect word to describe the urban sprawl in this shot! Thanks Eric 🙂
the epitome of civilisation …. Paris!
Absolutely! Can never have enough of her can we? 🙂
Perfect quote and picture. I do believe you love Paris. Every vantage point highlights this work of art.
Oh how I do Lynne! If my pockets weren’t terribly shallow and my bucket list so long, I would return there at least once a year 😉
Beautiful view and image of Paris, thank you for sharing.
Thank you Cornelia. It was a lovely, sunny day 🙂
Breathtaking view!
Thanks Uday 🙂
E non solo, beviamo tutti la stessa acqua, da milioni di anni 🙂
That is so true!
I adore the view from Sacre Coeur, never visit Paris without enjoy it… 🙂
Excellent captured… 🙂
This was our first time there Ledrake. Had missed it on two earlier visits for lack of time. Thank you for the compliment 🙂
Wow. A great photo!
Always happy to receive praise from photographers Nandini! Thank you 🙂
And such a beautiful quote, I love it.
Thank you Marion 🙂
Such a beautiful view, great capture Madhu!
Thanks Janaline.
One of my favourite horizons 🙂 Thank you!
I remember your shot from here looking down. That was truly amazing!
Oh, the day I had a vertigo :). Thank you for remembering it, Madhu. Was it hot in Paris in July? I guess not when compared to India…

Great photo and great quote indeed!!
Thanks again Praveena 🙂
That’s a great perspective and really shows how low the buildings in Paris really are, except for the Eiffel Tower. Beautiful picture. 🙂
Thanks David. It is great that they have succeeded in limiting the highrises to the St Denis area without cluttering up this skyline.
Wow what an amazing vista Madhu!!
Breathtaking isn’t it? I got a lot of panoramic shots of Paris this time. Have yet to scale the Notre Dame tower though 🙂
It’s really beautiful from up there! Great quote too.
It really is! Thank you Ann Christine 🙂

Happy to have stirred fond memories Valentine 🙂
Took me back to our trip to Paris four years ago…
Time for another visit perhaps? 🙂

They certainly do! Thank you for stopping by 🙂
Lovely view of the Paris horizon!
Thanks Luann. Paris offers so many unforgettable vistas.
Beautiful scene, Madhu. Such clarity, and I love the Eiffel tower out there on the skyline.
Thank you Kate.
Fantastic photo and choice …. I have the photo in the opesite direction .. from the tower to Sacré Cœur – it’s so true that Paris seems to just go on for ever !
And there are so many angles to view it from! Thanks Viveka.

On of my favourite views. It always feels so good to stay on this spot and overlook Paris. Great capture, great mood.
Thank you Dina. Mine too 🙂
Wonderful shot Madhu! Love the Eiffel Tower in the distance!
Thanks Tina.

Thanks Joshi
Beautiful photo, and a very insightful quote!
