Reflections – 2013
I was surprised by how many architectural marvels I photographed last year, mirrored in reflection pools…….at least one from each of our 2013 destinations! You have seen the Paris reflections one too many times, so here are the rest, all from India:
The Victoria Memorial, Kolkata

Here are a few more from our travels over the years:
Weekly Photo Challenge – Reflection
Travel Theme -Reflections
And many, many more here
Great architectural wonders! I loved the reflections!
You really did something special to get all those uncrowded reflections – not a ripple in sight! Almost as if you camped out for the perfect moment.
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. Any one of them would look wonderful on a canvas and framed,
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
Wow Madhu, fabulous still shots and all so reflective of a particular peace and quiet, along with the grandeur!
A wonderful selection of images Madhu. Excellent photographs.
what beautiful clicks. i especially like the addition of the trees in the first one.
Just one word; Beautiful!!!!!!!
Una Serie Impresionante, Muy Buenos Reflejos… Un Saludo.
architectural marvels indeed! wow!
Beautiful photography!
The photographs are truly awesome. But may be you could have tried different angles. All in the same angle, stacked together, seems to take the beauty a lil away. Anyway beautiful photographs and marvelous architecture.
Thank you Sandhya. Appreciate your feedback. I prefer unusual angles myself, but reflections in these instances do not work as well from other angles, since the pools are small and directly in front of the monuments (except in the case of Victoria memorial which is why it isn’t a frontal view) You will find plenty different angles of the Taj and Humayun’s tomb, if you click on the links that lead to my posts on them.
Your best architure plus reflection shots into one post … that’s just golden!
This is something done very differently. Beautiful !
Beautiful pics, as usual. 🙂
Visiting Calcutta has always been on my mind; somehow, we’ve never gotten around to doing it.
Gorgeous captures, Madhu! There is just something magical about pairing beautiful buildings with still pools of water… you and R must have risen incredibly early to miss the crowds at the Taj and Humayun’s Tomb!
Lovely reflection photos. Do they also have a big Imambara in Lucknow?
As soon as I read Lucknow in the beginning I knew under reflection theme one of the pic has to be chhota imambara. And obviously in India one choice is Taj Mahal.
lovely pics.
Amazing photos! I love reflection photography! 🙂

Beautiful architure shots, Madhu! It’s amazing you could find the Humayun’s Tomb so empty. Normally it is teeming with visitors 🙂
Amazing photos, Madhu. What a coincidence that we both posted reflection(s) from India for this week’s Photo Challenge. I choosed a photo from the Golden Temple in Amritsar by day and photos from Singapore at night. Btw, I really like your new Blog Theme, I saw that you changed it a while ago.
Amazing. Great great job done. Thanks for sharing

They are all lovely but the Taj Mahal really does stop you in your tracks. I visited many years ago and would love to go back one day.
