Considering my blog is about the world through my eyes, this week’s challenge should have been a cakewalk. But it wasn’t strangely. I found it hard zeroing in on a single image that as per Cheri’s specs. ” ……shows a command of your frame. Lead our eyes somewhere. Make us focus on something“.
So I stopped to think of what ‘The World’ means to me and whether my images convey my feelings.
Is it the contemplation of this buzzing, multifaceted urban scene viewed from our perch on the sky-walk above Siam Square night market? (Click on the image to view all the details)
Or this, my favourite shot from the Damnoen Saduak floating market near Bangkok? Cheri did mention light and frame…..
Is it this father-daughter duo enjoying a moment’s respite in Central Square, Bangkok, while a little one napped in his stroller……..
this family walking hand in hand into Patuxai, in Vientiane……..
or this group of friends hanging out in Gion, Kyoto?
At least one thing is certain at the end of this exercise……I am an urban creature, however much I crib about chaos and pollution. And ‘my world’ features people.
And then there are these two that ‘mean’ the world to me………
The little musical prodigy (a grandmother’s unbiased opinion), the photographer, the nerd……
…….and his brother, the world cup aspirant and unwavering Arsenal loyalist!
As you can see I have taken the easy way out……I am letting you decide 🙂

The Urge To Wander 
That is so true, and I noticed it since. You take pictures of people like it’s your business (that sounds like I mean something else, bwahahah). But yeah, it’s true. Well, for anything, you always give their portraits justice. You’re people pictures alway have substance. The words you convey with your people pictures are always powerful. And you just put so much life to their images. Your people pictures are always my favorites.

You just gave us a glimpse of your external/physical world and your emotional world. I think wherever those two are is your world. Yay! I think I gave a muddied answer. 🙂
Taken together, they provide the world as your mind’s eye sees it.
I love the pix’s you ‘ve used for the challenge. I like that they are different from what I’ve seen others post. It’s what makes photography unique. Everyone has a very different eye. Great post, Madhu.

The world through your eyes is full of life, hope and optimism my friend. It’s about celebrating the gifts of the present, of family and friends, of the places that inspired your heart. My favorite are the photographer and the soccer player. They are the hope of the future…

I’ve never made it to Thailand while in Asia, but that photo of the floating market makes me feel as though I missed out! Here’s to second chances soon!
My choice might vary depending on the day, but I do prefer shots with people in them. So your grandchildren … and the one of the father and daughter enjoying a respite in Bangkok would be my choices. Thank goodness I’m not one of the judges who would have to narrow the selection down to one.

This is a challenge that is challenging because there are almost limitless choices, choices that would probably vary from day to day. You choices are all love but I see you have your priorities straight as to which are the most important. 🙂

That is a tough one, Madhu dear – I agree.
It set me thinking and I too took the easy way out – as a non photographer, of course.
For me, my world is my wife and my children – then, it expands from that core.
