Cité, the only metro station on the Île de la Cité – the island where Paris began – is better known for its original, Hector Guimard designed, sinuous green cast-iron entrance (above). But its interior is no less appealing.
Until next time…..happy travels no matter where life takes you.
noblesse of a subway station …

Stunning photo, Madhu!
Just wonderful 🙂 Clever and so well taken!
Husbands serve as such good scouts when out and about to help you see a photo op you might have missed otherwise. Lovely!
You always surprise me with your perspectives. Beautiful!
Very old world feel. Delightful photos, Madhu.
AMAZING SHOT! Love the lights.
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
I LOVE this photo! I am kicking myself because I’ve walked past this station SO many times and never entered it! This looks beautiful and you captured it perfectly. Super job here.

Excellent captured and a perfect choice for the theme
– indeed a place with much atmosphere… 🙂
Thank you Ledrake. Glad you enjoyed it.
Wow, I remember the signs but not the interior, what a gorgoeus glow !
We wouldn’t have noticed the lights, if we hadn’t taken the stairs Gilly. Easy to miss them from the platform level, especially if you have your nose buried in a map 🙂
Nice one for the theme, Madhu 🙂
Thank you Shail. Nice to see you here 🙂
Nice shot!

Thanks Holly. Those globe lights make the picture 🙂
Incredible point of view. More of this world needs illumination in lamplight, if you ask me. I’d have never seen this place if not for you.
Appreciate your visit and comment Eli 🙂
WOW.. what a beautiful shot!
Thank you so much Follygirl.
I love everything about this shot.

Me too. I was telling hubby the other day, that maybe one more visit will get Paris out of my system 🙂 Thank you and a great weekend to you too.
I love lamplight, Madhu. So romantic 🙂
Me too Jo. And well preserved Metro stations, even when they stink a bit 🙂
Thank you! This evokes a lot of good memories for me!
Happy it did Ingrid. Paris = Happy memories for me too 🙂
Just a really cool perspective and reflective lighting Madhu! !
Credit to hubby for spotting this photo op! I was intent on getting my sore feet up the two flights of stairs. Good thing we discovered the automatic elevator, right beside the staircase, after we had reached the top! 🙂
